Woodlands Residence

In November 2017 Revell Landscaping created a modern tropical landscape in Woodlands for a long-term client. They had a clear idea of the contemporary, tropical look that they wanted to recreate with lush greenery which was inspired by a trip they had to Palm Springs in the USA.

The house and landscape were designed with this inspiration at the forefront. To create harmony between the two, elements from the garden are carried throughout the house, in particular, the second story planters outside the upstairs windows.

Advanced planting was carried out wherever possible to bypass the early growth stages of the garden and give the house an instant established feel. The lush green grass and variety of plants, accompanied by the remarkable illuminated palm which stands prominently in the front garden, transforms this property into a truly faithful recreation of sunny Palm Springs.

Key design features include a modern “Pietro”, a lavishly large wok-like planter bowl in the front garden and the tropical dark thermally modified “Vulcan” timber screening in the pool area. The simple and spacious layout is subtle in its impact.

In the evenings, a number of well-placed lights illuminate the garden to highlight its beauty. It has a fresh and modern feel allowing the beautifully constructed home to be admired by passers-by.
